Most of the software packages listed in those pages, including Ceph and Gluster, are requiring that a static ip address is configured on the network interfaces.

To set up a static ip address for the CYOne, follow this procedure

edit /etc/network/interfaces to reflect the example below. Change the ip data (X.X.X.X) with the correct values according to your setup.

# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0 allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static pre-up ifconfig $IFACE hw ether 08:B2:A3:FX:XX:XX address X.X.X.X netmask X.X.X.X gateway X.X.X.X

auto eth1 allow-hotplug eth1 iface eth1 inet static pre-up ifconfig $IFACE hw ether 08:B2:A3:FX:XX:XX address X.X.X.X netmask X.X.X.X

nameserver X.X.X.X nameserver X.X.X.X

then restart the networking

/etc/init.d/networking restart
