CY7 is the world’s first OEM modular ARM server for Cloud Storage and Big Data analytics


Back to back mounting - 2 CY7 in 1 rack U

With 7 user fittable CPU slots, integrated Ethernet switching fabric with two 1 Gbps output ports, space for 6 standard hard disks and 2 mSATA SSD, it's more a "Cloud in a box" than a standard server. Designed to fit in exactly an half rack unit it allows rack "back to back" mounting: 14 CPU's, 12 x 3.5" inches sata hdd drives and 4 mSATA SSD modules in just one rack U.

The “cellular” architecture of CY7 is designed to allow infinite scale computing with no single points of failure. Each computing module is a network node of his own; internal interconnection keeps communication between the nodes, while outside/cluster connectivity is provided by the two ethernet interfaces.

When used for Cloud Storage it scales linearly in capacity AND speed with the addition of more units. Best used in a “if it's broke don't fix it” model where the the failure of some of the computing/storage nodes is accounted from the start: failed equipment is simply turned off, not serviced or repaired by technicians, lowering the TCO of the solution.

Designed to fit in CY7 modular slots it packs a lot of features in a very small form factor. Low consumption and high powered it's fueled by a 1 Ghz Marvell Armada 370 with 1 Gb of RAM.

Open Source friendly and fully Linux compatible it uses the first ARM processor natively supported by the standard Linux Vanilla kernel: no need to install vendor patches and/or customized (often not current) customized kernels/distros.

Mars 100 is a microserver powered by 1.0GHz Marvell Armada 370 ARM v7 SOC.

It use the CyOne as it’s core module.

Software and packages


CY7 servers are fully Linux compatible, Vanilla Kernel 3.2.54 and later. No need to install vendor patches and specialized distros: use the supplied kernel and a standard Debian/Ubuntu install, or build your own customized software kit: the choice is up to you.
